Now, I want to just congratulate all the people that came in to no limits. I’m super pumped to start that this week. If you did not get into this session, you can go to the page to Betsy Pake comm backslash, no limits and you can put your name on the waitlist.

For if I open it up sometime again later this year. I was working on it this weekend. And I am so excited about it, just the

just the little pieces, the little nuggets in the very first week where we, we find the things that you don’t like to do, and we implant into your subconscious, so that you do like to do them. I mean, I’m feeling like people are gonna have some workouts going on in here, we’re gonna have a lot of new stuff. So I actually was working on it this weekend, and then made my own list too. And it was so fun to see how things started to shake out. So if you didn’t get in this time, I may open it up again.

So just go and put your name on the waitlist so you can get the early bird stuff. And if you get the early bird stuff, you’ll get the old pricing. So if that gets changed, you’ll still be able to be on the old pricing. So all right, so let’s just get into this show, shall we? Alright, here we go. Welcome to the art of living big. I’m your host, Betsy Pake. And this podcast is designed to share interviews and new ideas to help you redefine what could be possible for your life.

Now, let’s go live big. Hey, everybody, welcome to the show. I know I did. Last week I did the my favorite things for 2018, which was technically New Year’s. When I dropped it, it was my first one of 2019. But I’m feeling like this is sort of my first real episode of 2019. I’m sort of excited about it. So I wanted to talk to you. I’m going to tell you a little story about something that has happened to me over the last 12 hours. And then I’m going to bring it back to you and how we can start to move forward.

Okay, so my husband has been gone this weekend. And it wasn’t something that I put out on social media because I didn’t want anybody to come find me and kill me. I get paranoid. So, um, he’s been gone. But he’s coming back today. So I feel free to say that. But at night, I get like we have a pretty large house and I even though I lock everything down, and I’m grateful I have dogs, I still was like, again, a little paranoid, which I live in a really safe area. I’m at the bottom of a cul de sac. I have neighbors like, you know, ain’t nobody getting in.

But I still my whole life. I’ve been like a little paranoid about that. So I don’t know there’s probably a whole episode I could do on that and dissect myself but last night I was really sleepy you know that like good sleepy, and I get excited when I feel like that because I know it’s a really good window for me to talk to my subconscious and literally I do this every day, you guys.

So I’m going to get back to that but let me just keep on with the story. So I was excited I got bad. I’m like, Okay, this is really good. And I fell asleep. And I have a home that has a basement and in the basement is a movie theater. And in the movie theater the there are double doors and when my husband shuts those doors at night like he’ll be watching TV.

I can hear I hear it all the way upstairs it has a distinct sound. And I woke up and I had heard that sound and I let I mean I literally set up a bed and turned my light on. Now I knew all the doors were locked because I had gone around and my bedroom door was locked but I still I was like somebody coming that through that basement door.

But then like same part of me is like and what they’re like hunkered down to watch a movie and they shut the movie do like Of course not. But I got up and I went into my closet and looked out the window to see if I could see anybody. And again, I’m on a cul de sac so there’s nobody there. Anyway, I fell back asleep. The same thing happened again.

Well, by the third time when it happened. My dog started barking and so I knew it wasn’t just me that heard it. So I went to the front again. I looked I looked up the back window, I got my phone out, I dialed nine one could dial one in a hurry. And I opened my door and I was just like, I am just gonna I’m just gonna go down and see What’s going on now? last year at the end of the year, and I should have put this on my favorites, but I read a book by David Goggins called can’t hurt me.

And he is a navy seal. And it’s a really good book, but he talks about when he would have to go in as a navy seal to, uh, an area where he had to open a door. Like he didn’t want to walk up to the door, and like, just kind of turn the doorknob and peek in, right, he wanted to pound in and come in, and like attack whatever was inside the door, right.

So to go in with force and with purpose. So that is how I decided I was going to attack my basement. And so I went downstairs with my dog who was still barking and like doing that thing where they walk really fast around with their nose down, you know? Anyway, long story short, there was nothing. But I did attack the world as if I was going to, like, take down some names.

But here’s what happened. It ended up where I didn’t get to sleep till like past one o’clock in the morning. And today is Monday of like, the first day of the year, right, like of the first like, everybody’s going back to work. It’s like official now we’re no longer in the holidays. It’s like real life. And this is where all of our hopes and dreams get created. Right?

It’s not in the planning of it. It’s not in the dreaming about it. It’s on the Monday mornings when you make stuff happen. And so I got up this morning, and I was like, I can’t believe it. I am so tired. Plus, I was like, stressed out because I had totally drained myself by like, pretending I was a navy seal in my basement. So, you know, I got ready this morning. And I have you know, I was going to work out I have clients this morning, I wanted to do this podcast and all the things.

Here’s what I decided. I decided that every single thing our brains are constantly scanning for stuff to go wrong, right. And my brain knew that Craig was out of town. And it knew that my whole life I’ve been afraid of somebody breaking in, right? So anytime I see that on the news, or anything I can’t give my husband has a news on I can’t even look at that. I’m like, I can’t, I can’t, I can’t. So clearly, there’s something there for me. And so my brain was scanning for that, right.

That’s why I heard it, it was probably a teenager next door that slammed their door. But my brain was scanning because that’s what I was looking for. And so as we start this Monday, I just want to ask you, what are you looking for, like, what’s underneath? What is the thing you really expect to happen? Because on some level, I expected to hear stuff, I expected to be scared at night, like, I expected stuff to be a little stressful, not during the day, but at night. And so as we get started on this Monday, you know, what I did was I woke up and I was like, it didn’t go the way I thought it was going to, but my brain is going to continue to look for the bad, but I’m going to ignore it.

And I’m going to get really jazzed up for what is possible today. So I thought I’m gonna get all in my workout clothes, I have a client to this morning. And I want to give her my all I want her to get my energy, right. And so I want to be able to have a space for her and to be able to share and to be able to provide what it is that she needs to be able to have her transformation.

And so that didn’t include me being really tired from the night and really tired from my workout. So I looked at my schedule, I moved things around, I made the first things first. And I didn’t get upset about it. I got really excited about it. Because what could this mean for me? So I want to just kind of want to keep going with this story because this is what happened. So I’m like Okay, so now I’ve got some extra time, because I’m not working out this morning.

So what can I do? So I decided I was going to go live in my facebook group. And if you are an entrepreneur, if you’re a coach or a healer or you sell your own services, find me inside my facebook group. It is called platform to profit. And if you search for that inside, or you just go to my Facebook page, and you’ll see it there anyway.

I decided I was going to go live because I’ve got this extra time when I’ve got this energy and I’m going to share with people some ideas and so I went live and when it was over, I noticed it didn’t have any volume like I it shows you like when you finish it the live is actually like five seconds behind you.

And so it shows you the live as it’s finishing. So even though you’ve finished you see the last five seconds of your life, and there was no volume. So I was like oh my god that didn’t even record so I unplugged my microphone and I plugged it back in. I deleted the video right so nobody had come on live.

So I was like okay, so that was that was Didn’t work. And then I thought, I’m going to do this podcast. So I started it. And then I looked, and I noticed there was no little sound things showing up. I rebooted my computer, I tried to record again, the blue light was on on my mic, so I knew it was on and working. I finally figured it out, the actual microphone turns blue when it’s plugged in, not necessarily when it’s on. So it was off. So I did all that with my mic off.

So everything was working perfectly. But it took me a while. But all I kept saying was Yes. Because maybe there’s some sort of reason I’m learning this. Now the blue light comes on even when the mic is off. And so now I don’t go on a radio show, or I don’t I’m not on with my client, having my clients sit through this while I figure it out.

Right. So all that’s really more important to me. So I tell you all of that story, I tell you the story about last night about being aware of things that I didn’t want to have happen, and then, you know, noticing them, and then this morning, everything trying to throw me off kilter, my brain is looking for stuff to go wrong.

And so as you start this week, and you have new goals, and you have new ideas for 2019, they do not get created, when you write them down on a piece of paper, yes, that is when they become real to you. But they get created in the every day, they get created in the moment where you wake up, and you didn’t get enough sleep, or the moment where you wake up.

And your mic doesn’t come on, right? The moment where you wake up, and you do a whole live and nobody can listen to it. Because it wasn’t working, right. The moments like that are going to be the defining moments, the moments where you can either shrink back to where you were, and how you’ve how your 2018 went or a 2015 or your 2010. Maybe they were all the same. Or you can get really excited

about what’s happening now. My mic, this mic I’ve had for years, and that has never happened to me. And so you know, what I was saying to myself was this is a new problem. Like I’ve never had this problem.

And I don’t want the same problems I had last year Oh hell no, I don’t know what the problems I had last year, I want new problems. And so we’re always going to have problems, things are always going to come up. And if you have hopes and dreams, there are always going to be things that come up that try to derail you or pull you off your path or make you think you can’t do it.

So the biggest, the biggest hurdle that you’re going to have, and we talk about this in no limits, and work on this very thing is that you’ve got to break the cycle between your results and your beliefs. So when you get good results, what do you do? You go, Oh, I can do this? Yes, I got goals and dreams and they’re working, right? And then the moment you something doesn’t work the way you want, right?

You’re like I put that post up about my business. And nobody said anything, or I only got three likes or whatever the heck it is, right? It’s not working. Maybe this isn’t for me, that connection right there, you’ve got to break it. That is going to be the that will be the one thing this is what I’m going to call this episode though.

One thing that will make the difference between you hitting your goals and not hitting your goals is that one thing. So if you’re in no limits, we are going to attack that thing. But having that moment where you’re like, I am not going to let this affect my beliefs, I’m going to create the belief that I want. And I’m going to move forward on that belief.

Now, that can be easier said than done. But it is totally possible. And it’s totally possible by using your subconscious. So I want to just throw that out for you. Because you’re going to have things that come up because that’s life, you’re going to have things that are going to derail you because that’s living. And you’re going to have things that you didn’t expect that are going to come up that are going to kind of push you off the path of what you had planned for 2019.

But if you can ignore all that, just say yes. And just try to continue to redirect your brain to the good things you really can retrain yourself, you really can retrain your brain from always scanning for the negative to keep you alive, to always scanning for what it is you tell it to and you know it, it’s part of your brain. It’s called the reticular activator.

And you’ve probably heard this before or or you’ve probably experienced this. When you go you want to buy a new car and you research and you figure out what car you want and then you see it Everywhere. It’s not there are more of those cars. It could be that there are more of those cars of it’s really popular. But it’s because you’re brand brand, your brain is scanning for it. So what are you telling your brain to scan for? Last night, I was telling my brain to scan for noises, any kind of noise, let me know.

So this morning, I woke up, and I’m telling my brain to scan for places where I can have new energy. I’m telling it to scan for new problems, to be excited about new problems. I’m telling it to, you know, be excited about what I can offer to stay focused on my goal, right to not get derailed by anything. So I just wanted to leave you with that little thought as we start this first week back on track in 2019. This is where you begin to make all of those dreams for 2019 a reality.

So don’t get caught. Don’t get caught thinking that the old way has to be the new way. Don’t get caught thinking that your results and your beliefs are connected and move forward in this new way so that you can live a really big life. I know there’s awesome things in store for you. So just stay focused, don’t let it go. And I will see you guys next week. And as always, here’s a little message from my husband.

That’s it.
