233: Why you should be talking with your subconscious mind

Why is it important to talk with your unconscious mind and what can it really tell you?

Today I dive into the unconscious mind and all the reasons why you should make communing with your unconscious mind a regular practice.

Hello fellow adventurers. Thank you for being here with me today. I am excited to have this show. Back again this week. Last week, I took the week off. I had mentioned in the podcast previous that I had gone through

an ultimate mind hacking day of my own. I had a day full of NLP and hypnosis of my own to work on some things. And it left me with so much integration, I was really having trouble explaining it. But I just knew that I needed to sort of figure out what was next and who I serve from here and how I show up and who I am. And it just felt like I needed some space. I was having the most intense dreams, you know how you have those dreams where, you know, when you’re sleeping, you’re sort of in a state of paralysis, right? That That way you don’t move around and fall off the bed or talk or whatever. But if you try to talk in your sleep or scream, you know, it’s like you kind of wake yourself up and you’re like, well, like you can’t speak I was waking myself up screaming that that kind of scream that you can’t really scream because you’re like sleepy paralyzed. So just a lot of integration, a lot of things shifting, it’s been both really good. And you know, struggle bus. You know this from your own shifting and transformation that when things start to change, it feels like everything changes and that can feel really hard. I just got off the phone with my friend Trish. It Trish from Episode Two. Oh, wait, it’s funny because now her name is no longer Trish, if I’m talking to anybody. I’m like Trish from Episode Two. Oh, wait. So Trish from Episode Two away, and I said I think I’m done. Like I had two nights ago, I had this really, really intense what I felt like I was getting this energetic upgrade. And yesterday, I felt so great. And I said I’m pretty sure I’m done. She’s like, Yeah, no, I’m not done. So I’m like, Okay, so we’re just gonna keep going with it and just integrate as we go. And I think that this is the work we all do, right? We shift and change those intense those mind hacking days. They can. It is it is so much change all at once. Right. And so that’s sort of what happens. It’s both wonderful and, and takes a little bit of of acclimating after. So anyway, enough about that. But that’s kind of I was gone last week. So thank you for being back with me this week. So I’m recording this on Wednesday night. Tomorrow, I will be speaking and get I have to speak live for a group, I’m so excited to be doing something live, it feels like exciting. And I’m not sure if we’re heading back into a bit of a COVID spike. So I’m going to be super grateful for it and keep my distance and you know, wear my mask and all that good stuff. And knowing that I might not to be able to do anything live for a little while. But with that said, I do have some fun things on the horizon, that are live for 2021. When I was at my event, I said to one of my roommates, you know, I use an online journal, I use one day or day one day one one day, it’s called day one. It’s called day one. I’ve used this for years and years. And I love it, because it kind of keeps everything in one place. And it’s on the computer. And I will go back sometime and look. And when I was at the class when I was I was in Philadelphia for this class for a couple weeks, I went back and looked, you know, it’ll pop up like you, you did the journal for today. And look back and see the one you did two years ago or five years ago, and there was one five years ago, and I was just about to launch my new website. So I had been coaching for nutrition, but had not moved all the way into the NLP thing I had, I was trained and had gotten my certification, but I hadn’t launched the new website, and I was talking about it. And I was talking about what I wanted. And I was talking about my thoughts. Anyway, when I read it, I was like, Oh my god, I was doing so many things. Like, wrong, I’m gonna say wrong, I just I have learned so much. And I was like, Oh my god, it took five years right? To get from there to here. And if I had known, then what I know now it could have taken like a week or four weeks, right? So that is really how all of this whole, the whole idea for next level was born.

So I just was looking at that. And I was like, Oh my God, we could shorten this curve. This does not have to be so long. So long and painful, right? So anyway, so if you that is your thing. So today, what I want to talk about today is why it is even important that you learn how to listen to your subconscious mind. You know, I realized that I talk on here a lot about like, you know, asking your subconscious or get in touch with your subconscious. But why does that even matter? What’s important about that, as I was prepping for my talk tomorrow, a big part of it was explaining this reason and I got thinking about it. And I was like Have I ever really, truly explained it in more detail on the show. So I want to dive in into that today. And also empower you to take some time to try and tap into your unconscious mind, we’re gonna dive into this a whole lot deeper inside next level. But here’s why this is so important. As you were sitting here listening to me right now you’re probably listening like with your conscious mind, right? Unless you’re not listening and you’re just doing other things, then you are listening with your subconscious mind. But if you’re paying attention, you’re listening with your conscious mind. And it’s about 5% of everything that you do. So if you could think about 5% of you, it’s your brainpower being focused right here. That means 95% of everything else is running on autopilot. And here’s why that’s really important. Because not only does our subconscious run all of our bodily functions, right, like helping us breathe and move blood through our system and pump our heart and all of that great stuff. It also runs patterns so that we don’t have to be thinking quite so hard. So if you’re listening to this while you’re driving a car, for example, you don’t you’re not really thinking too hard about driving. It’s not like when you very first started driving. When you first started driving, you were probably hyper aware of where your mirrors were and how fast or how much you were pushing on the pedals and where your other feet were and where your hands were. It may have felt a little more difficult to have the radio on back then or to be listening to other things. And even now, if you’ve been driving for years and years and years, but you are kind of

Last and you’re trying to follow the directions, you might notice that you turn down the sound on the music, right? You can’t have the music on, because there can only be so much that’s happening consciously if you’re having to concentrate. But once those patterns begin to take over, then you don’t need your conscious awareness. And you can listen to me or listen to songs or listened to anything else. So subconsciously, it’s amazing because it’s running all of these patterns so that we can not only do more at once, but we can make things easier, we aren’t having to think about so much. Or to, to focus quite so much. So these patterns are awesome, because they run our internal processes, but they also help us run a variety of external processes. Now, this is also going to be running little tiny micro changes on your face, say when your boss says something to you, maybe your boss says something to you, that reminds you, unconsciously of something that your parents said. And you might get a flash of an expression on your face. And your boss may unconsciously notice that flash and may react to it. And you may think I don’t even know why my boss doesn’t like me. I don’t know why he’s acting that way, or she’s acting that way. It may just be an unconscious reaction that’s happening. So all of these things are happening, like sort of in the background, just running in the background. So you might consciously be focused on other things, and then all these other things can be happening in the background. Okay. So that’s great, that’s awesome, it’s helpful. It also can make life a whole lot harder. Because if you could imagine, consciously, you might have a goal, you might want to get a promotion at work, or you might want to start a business. Or maybe you want to lose weight. And so consciously, you have thought through that, and you’ve thought, I really want to do this. And then what happens the moment your attention gets pulled to something else, right? You have to take care of your kids or you’re busy on some other project or you’re on vacation, or whatever it is, then what happens, your focus has moved. And so the patterns run? And what if those patterns aren’t supporting you? What if those patterns aren’t the thing that also wants you to lose weight or get the promotion? What if the patterns actually see a problem with all of that, it can start to wreck havoc, because it’s running 95% of the show. You know, I I’ve mentioned and I think I’ve mentioned it numerous times about how I had that mind hacking day, it’s because I knew I had patterns, and I wanted to change those patterns. And when those patterns were changed, everything started to shift, right? My tolerance for things, my awareness of things. All of the sudden, I started to notice things that I had never noticed before. And it’s because my patterns had begun to change, and things that needed my conscious awareness shifted. And so this can be really, really impactful when we want to make change, or we want to uplevel or we want to become something something new, right? What’s the next step on your journey. And, you know, I think that we are all here on some sort of journey to experience things. And if you feel called to uplevel, I believe you’re supposed to, I believe you’re supposed to have that experience. Like I think you came here to have that experience. And you also came here to have the challenges that may appear as though it’s keeping you from that experience. And so your job then is to move past those stumbling blocks so that you can become who you are to become and reach that next level and then the next and the next and the next. And the goal is to have fun and joy along the way. So what is one way that I think you can not only have more joy along the way it can make it a little bit more fun, but also to start to recognize those patterns is to be able to spend time every day in communion with your subconscious mind. Now your subconscious mind is sending you signals all the time. You know all those coincidences that you think you have. They’re really signals the reason you’re noticing them is because your unconscious mind wants you to notice. If it did not think it was important. You wouldn’t notice it I promise you because 95% of stuff is just not noticed. The only reason you’re seeing it and noticing it

Because your subconscious wants you to. So it’s not a coincidence. And Trish from Episode 208 would say it is your spirit guides, you know communicating with you. Now, I will take that one step further and say, our subconscious mind connects, I believe this is my belief, you can believe something different. But I believe our subconscious mind is the thing that connects to collective consciousness. And that is how we receive messages. So I would say Trisha is right. And I would say I’m right from a science perspective. So if my subconscious mind is trying to show me things, it’s going to show me things in pictures, coincidences, symbols, you know, lots of times people say they see numbers, right, I see 222 or 1111. That is because you, you are looking for it, you think it’s important. And you want assigned to know, if you’re on the right track, your subconscious is going to show you a sign to tell you you’re on the right track. Because when you are communing with your subconscious, you are on the right track. Lots of times people will say numbers, or maybe it’s a symbol of something like a feather or an owl, or something like that. So

we can also be in communion with our subconscious mind in our dreams. Our dreams are a way of our brain reorganizing, and that reorganizing can become evident to us in our dreams, you know, the last couple weeks, I have had some freaky dreams. In fact, I have had some freaky dreams that I think are probably 80% attributed to the mind hack day that I had. And I know a lot of my friends have been having really freaky dreams lately, just with all the energy of everything happening with the United States and the election, and all around the world with COVID. And all of those things. So I think everyone is, is having some heightened activity with their dreams. And I believe that this is, is that communion that communion with our subconscious mind, our subconscious is trying to make sense of things that maybe are very stressful or overwhelming, or maybe don’t make sense. And so in that an effort to communicate with you and make you see what it thinks is important to help you re integrate things that are happening in your everyday life. And to sort things. You know, when I was younger, I used to always say, like things have to go into certain buckets. That’s how I used to describe it when I was young, is that I would try to put things in buckets. And if I was confused by something I used to describe it as, like, I don’t know which bucket to put that in. So very much. So I know for me personally, things belong in buckets. And and I will kind of I can almost mentally see those buckets. And so, as we dream, those things can get realigned. You know, I had a really good episode with a dream analysis, or a dream analyzer, I guess you would say it was lane, Delfin, it was Episode 131, if you want to check that out. But this is a way that our subconscious mind is communicating with us. So when you can start to recognize the signs when you can notice the signs when you’re sleeping, and the notice the signs. When you’re in your waking state, you can start to make more sense. And I believe not only integrate things quicker, but also get the answers for things that you’re looking for. You know, so many times we go to our friends and trusted advisors to ask questions. And I don’t think that that’s a bad idea. But I do think there is great power, and being able to talk to yourself, and your higher power and your subconscious to be able to get the answers that you want. And here’s why is when we go to somebody else we are we are getting an answer that is given to us through their filter of everything. they’ve experienced every view that they have every view and belief and value that their parents had that they handed down to them. So when you ask someone’s advice, and if they have more experience in business or something like that there is value there, but you also have to temper it, knowing that you’re getting advice through a filter that you may not be familiar with or may not want. When you can have this time with your subconscious. When you have this time where you can connect in deeply to you and what’s the right path for you. Then the filters are known you know where it’s coming from, and it’ll most likely be the right choice for you. Because it comes from you. Now, I think that there can be value to hearing

from other people, but I think that really knowing how to tap into this can be so powerful, because we can be led astray by other people’s worries or doubts or second guesses. And when we can tap into what we know is right for us, we can go forward with way more confidence. And then when something goes wrong or something doesn’t go as we wish that it would, it gives us the opportunity to learn and grow from our own mistakes, instead of saying, I shouldn’t have taken that advice. It puts us at cause and that empowers us. So take some time, check in with your unconscious mind. Check in with your dreams, you know, keep a notepad nearby. Anytime I’m spending time just to talk to my unconscious mind. I always want to be sure that I can write down what I hear. So do that. Keep a pad of paper by your bedside. And when you wake up before you’re really fully awake, ask yourself a couple questions or write down what it is that you dreamt about during the night. It might not make sense then. But as you continue throughout your day, it might begin to unfold for you and make sense to you.
