311: Creating Memories of What You Want Will Get You Where You Want to Go

Now, let’s go live big. Hi, everyone. Hi. Welcome to the show today. Hello, fellow adventurers on this journey, this lifelong journey. I wanted to, I wanted to just share some thoughts today, maybe this will be a longer episode, maybe it’ll be a really short episode. I’m not totally sure. But I have some thoughts as one does. And I thought, let me come on and just share these in whichever way that they they need to come out. And so I’ve got my coffee, grab some coffee, maybe a journal, you might have some thoughts as I am speaking, and there might be things that you want to revisit. And one of the things that I’ve been thinking about recently, and I think I talked about this on last week’s episode, but I had been I have been, I don’t want to use the word working, but I’m going to, I have been working towards just really raising my vibration and doing the things that I need to do to stay in a really high vibe place. Now, what does that mean, to me, to me, being in a high vibe place means that I’m lingering on the things that I want, I feel really optimistic and happy. When things don’t go the way that I expected. Nothing happens, I don’t have a super negative reaction, I’m fine. Being in a high vibe plates means that I notice when patterns are taking over, that aren’t serving me or when I’m having reactions to things that aren’t serving me. Because once I see them, then they can never be the same, right? Because I’ve seen the pattern. And then I have like consciousness and I can change it. So staying in a high vibe place, really is that to me, it’s it’s just feeling good. And when I noticed something that normally would have made me feel bad or made me go down like the rabbit hole of overthinking that I’m not doing that. And in all of that, so I’ve been doing I think I talked about this in last week’s episode, but it one of the things that I have been doing is just really noticing where I am, like, what’s the what are the emotions that I’m having? And I’ve been using a lot of the processes from Abraham Hicks to raise that vibration now. It’s almost everyone want to say? What do I want to say? It’s almost surprising. how good I feel. And I have found like the last few days, my reaction to that. Like I’ve been really high vibe now for several weeks. Like it feels really good every day feels really good. When you think that would be really great, right? Like your sounds pretty good, Betsy, it’s not the things aren’t going wrong or that I don’t have problems or that there aren’t things for me to worry about. I just find that I’m not. But what I’m now finding is this sort of like a skate like I’ll feel really good. I get up I feel super good. Today, I brought my dog for a walk. Like I felt good. Like I was sort like I was conscious of not dancing while I was listening to my music and walking, but I sort of was dancing. Like, I think I could dance enough where it would make me feel like good because that’s what I want to do. But not like a crazy person. Right? So I’m like walking the line. But but like at the point where I want to like dance down the street like things feel really good. And then I noticed when I came back that I was scanning, what could I feel bad about? I started to like, is it that? Isn’t that? What about that? Are you nervous about that? Could that be a problem? And I thought that is so interesting. Because because I think one of the things that we do is we go I want to feel really good. But we haven’t practiced holding that feeling. So I want to feel really good. There’s times during your day where you probably feel really good even if you’re going through a hard time right now.

The problem is holding that feel good for an extended period of time. And I think a big part of that. Well I think a big huge part of that is habit right? If you’ve had habit where you’ve dipped down into the low all the time. The other thing is a biological response, right? My unconscious mind is number one prime directive is to keep me alive. And in order to do that, I need to be scanning for the rustle in the grass. But I think and you’ve heard me say this before, if you’ve been around for any period of time, but I don’t have the rustle in the grip, like there’s no lion out there that I need to, like, really be aware of. Now, I live in Atlanta. So you could argue there might be someone with a gun when I walk my dog, but the area where I walk, I don’t feel too nervous about it. And so there isn’t really anything out there for me to be like, scanning for. Right? There’s nothing out there for me to be like, this thing’s gonna run out this wild animal and kill me like, there’s nothing. So what is my brain do? Because it has a need to find something. There’s gotta be something right. So what can I find? So it comes way, way in close to me, and says, What about that? What about that? What about that? And I realized this morning that I came back in and I was journaling. And I was doing my deep streaming, right? Where I ask, like, what is it about this? And I asked, why is it that I was scanning? You know, I was scanning to feel bad. I know, sounds weird, but I think you know what I mean, right? Like, I’m, I’m, I’m feeling good. But I’m like, what else could be wrong? And I realized that when I worry, there’s the level of certainty in that. Right? If I’m worried, or I’m rethinking or rehashing something that happened a year ago, or 10 years ago, or whatever it is, I can I have a memory of it, which feels certain, even though we know memory is so malleable, it’s the memory I have is probably not even true, right? But I have there is a level of certainty where I can relax and go, that is certain. Let me linger on that. Because I know that. And if you think about it, from a brain perspective, what I just described, that feels really good. Like I get to rest in that and know that I might not know if something’s jumping out of the out of the woods. But I do know that thing happened. And I know, that made me mad. And I know, like all of that stuff. And so, as I was doing my journaling this morning, my then I call it my deep streaming, right, where I just asked my inner knower, like what is it, I need to know about this, I realized that I’m choosing a thing from the past, I’m choosing to think about this thing that happened 20 years ago, or 30 years ago, like whatever that thing is for you. And to think about that. And in that, it gives me this level of certainty. But I could just as easily form a memory of what it is I will want. And I could linger on that. And then the thing that I want could become the memory. Hear me out. So I’ll explain this more in a minute, that thing I want could become a memory. And then that thing would be more apt to come true, because I’m training my brain to focus on that thing, and to look to scan for things that resemble that. Does that make sense? So my brain is designed to notice where I’m lingering to notice what I’m focused on to notice where I hang out in my mind. And then to scan my whole world for more of that, and then show me more of that. That’s what creates my reality. When we talk about like, create your own reality, it’s not like a woowoo thing. It’s actually part of your brain. It’s what your brain does. We’re bringing in, you know, millions of pieces of information every second, but we can only consciously process 126 of those pieces. So my brains got to know my unconscious mind has to know what to show me. And it only knows what to show me because of where I’m spending my time.

So if you are worried, and like right now in our economy, maybe you’re like, Oh, my God, I’m so worried in this economy. Like, I don’t know what’s going to happen. This feels really crazy. This, I don’t know, am I going to keep my job? Right? I mean, these are real world things. Is my business going to decline? Like what’s going to happen? And we’re pulling from that feeling from a feeling of the past. Does that make sense? So? How do I know what the feeling of worrying about my money is? Because I have had it before, so I’m pulling from the past. But what if I pulled from the future? And I decided that when the economy is down, when a recession hits, do you know, there’s that’s when the most millionaires are made? People make a lot of money. They don’t have to, you don’t have to be the one that’s struggling. Now, you might be like, Yeah, but I have a job. This is how much money I make. What if there’s something else that comes to you? What if something else happens? Like I, and I do this, or else I wouldn’t know to tell you. But we zoom way in and say, What’s in my awareness now is all there is. And that is so not true. There’s a millions of pieces of information coming in every second. And what’s true for me is 126 of those pieces, that means there’s a ton of information. And what do I mean by information? I mean, there’s like things I’m seeing, hearing, seeing, smelling, tasting feeling. So there’s opportunity, there’s people that you could be making connections with. There’s there’s new ways of thinking and being there’s things you could learn. Like I think about last week, I spoke at a women’s leadership event in Denver. And somebody asked me, how did you get? Like, I had mentioned how I had been in sales years ago and was in the mortgage business years ago. How did you get from that to here? Now, if somebody said to me, Hi, Betsy. It’s now 2006. And you’re in the mortgage business, but you’re going to be speaking, and making money speaking and traveling all over the country. Tell me how you do that. I would be like, I don’t know. Like, I would be like, um, I just start doing it. Like, I wouldn’t know, the twists and turns and paths. And ways that brought me to where I am. I couldn’t have mapped that out. Now. I could have tried. But I’m telling you, if you talk to anybody that has had anything happen, that they wanted to happen, they will tell you, it didn’t happen the way they thought it would happen. You know, like the best laid plans, right? So when things go cockeyed, go celebrate, be like woohoo, I’m getting to see a new way I’m getting an opportunity to get to what it is I want maybe faster, the route is never what we think it’s going to be. And when we can just release that. And kind of like go down the river and just stop trying to hang on to the bushes on the side of the bank. And just go and be like, whatever happens is I can I can find the goodness in this I can. I can create what I want out of this. I know this is helping me on my path. I know there’s things for me to learn in this, then then I can just float down the river, knowing it’s taking me to the river of joy.

I can choose in this moment to worry if I want to. That’s what I can do. But I also have a choice where I could instead create something new now one of the things I said was I and I said I’ll I’ll explain this in a minute. This is now the minute I’ll explain this. But our unconscious mind is where all of our memories are housed. It’s also has future memories housed. This is how come like if I say What are you doing next month? You’re like, Ah, I kinda know. Right? What are you gonna do in January? I kind of know like, I know from the past. What do you do at Christmas? Well, I kind of know I know. I know what decorations I’ll have because I remember what I decorations I had last year, right? So it creates the future from the past. And so, as I’m moving forward, I could create a different memory. I could go into the future and create something different it. And I do that by visualizing it by knowing what it feels like, what does it sound like in NLP we say, you know something when you feel it, you see it, you hear it and you feel it. And so guess what? What is it that you want? What’s the thing that’s dragging you down right now? And what would you want instead? And then create a memory around that around, what would you want instead? And think about that, dwell on it. Think about it, as you’re falling asleep at night, that your brain is in a brainwave state that is so great for implanting that future memory. So be like, Oh, next week, this thing will happen. Right? I think that we forget how powerful we are. And we slip into this every day is the same because it can be and some, some seasons of our life that is really helpful. You know, it’s super helpful to have that. But there’s some seasons of our life where we’re like, Alright, I want something new. And we get to pick, we get to choose, I have so much more to tell you about this. There’s been so many things that have been happening, and I’m making the list and I’m, I’m going to, I’m going to share them in a way that I hope makes a lot of sense. The last year, I would say like last year, knows 18 months, the amount of changes that have happened is baffling to me the things that have happened. And I want to map this out in a way. That makes a lot of sense. But I think this is the beginning, right? I think this is the idea that you’re creating, and that you’re moving through things. Because of what you’re focused on. Because of the 126 pieces of information, your consciousness is choosing to pick up. And that you have the power, magic, it’s magic, miracles happen every single day, every day. But we’re so like, not even paying attention. That we we miss them or we skip them. And then we go, life is so like boring and the same. I know I’ve done this so many times. I mean, I’ve done this recently. And I know this. So this is just a friendly reminder that your life is magical, too. If it’s been hard recently that that that doesn’t mean that’s how it has to keep going. Because it doesn’t mean your life isn’t magical. It just means right now you’re missing it. And life can be hard. And it can be a struggle. And I know this deeply. And I also know that when we’re ready, things can change really quick. They don’t have to stay the same. And I think when you can start to be open to that idea. I think that’s really what makes the shift. And that’s the thing that can help you live a big life. I hope this gave you some food for thought. I love you so much. Things are going to get so much better. Just wait and see.
